As part of the government's tourism and hospitality transformation strategy, Uhuru Kenyatta, president, Kenya, officially inaugurated The Lazizi Premiere, the county's first five-star airport hotel.
Conveniently positioned inside Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the 144-key property seeks to tap into the increasing demand for rooms in Nairobi.
Speaking at the launch, Kiran Patel, chairman, commented that the opening of the property would tap into the 900,000 annual international arrivals and the conducive business environment in Kenya.
Patel added, "Our intention is not only to contribute significantly to the country's growth and Vision 2030 but also to create over 1,000 job opportunities in the hospitality industry, directly and indirectly."
