Siginon Aviation appointed Qatar cargo handler at JKIA

Siginon Aviation has been appointed the official ground and ramp handler for Qatar Airways cargo at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The logistics and transportation firm will be handling flowers, fruits, vegetables and meat destined mainly for Europe and Middle East from Nairobi.

Siginon is counting on its $10 million (about Sh1 billion) air cargo terminal commissioned in 2014, which has been custom designed to include a 3,000 square metres perishables centre, a 5,000 square metre general cargo warehouse and a 2,000 square metres basement parking for transit V.

“This move reiterates Siginon Aviation's commitment to attract and serve global airlines with internationally benchmarked facilities,” group managing director Mashack Kipturgo said.
